[/caption] As part of the activities for the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association‘s (IFIA) Fall Safety Seminar in November 2010, Acting U.S. Fire Administrator Glenn Gaines was invited as a guest speaker. According to George Michehl, executive director of the IFIA, Gaines addressed his vision for the future of fire prevention at the U.S. Fire Administration, which includes greater emphasis on fire prevention at the National Fire Academy. Gaines also cited the need for a meeting with the major home builders associations to discuss their opposition to the fire sprinkler requirements in the International Residential Code. The fire sprinkler tree is made out of the actual sprinklers from each successful fire sprinkler activation that has occurred in the fire district and also includes plaques with pictures of the occupancies and information about the event.
